Year 5–6 Classroom Teacher (Fixed-Term)
Start Term 3 – 20 July 2026 (start date negotiable for the right person)

Ridgeview School is a small rural primary school located just 10 minutes from Albany. We are seeking a dedicated and hard-working Year 5–6 classroom teacher to join our team.

This is a fixed-term position due to current roll numbers, with the potential to continue should roll growth occur in 2027.

Ridgeview is a school of approximately 50 students with a strong focus on high expectations, positive relationships, and academic achievement. We operate within a structured and highly organised environment where consistency, teamwork, and continual improvement are valued.

The successful applicant will:

• Be an effective classroom practitioner with high expectations for learning and behaviour (beginning teachers willing to learn and reflect are encouraged to apply).
• Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and a commitment to calm, consistent classroom routines.
• Be committed to explicit, evidence-based teaching practices.
• Have experience with Structured Literacy and Structured Mathematics, or a willingness to develop expertise in these areas.
• Be organised, efficient, and able to work collaboratively within a small team.
• Build positive relationships with students, whānau, and colleagues.

Our behaviour curriculum is informed by Tom Bennett’s Running the Room, with a strong emphasis on explicitly teaching behavioural expectations, routines, and self-management.
